Reason #68 Why I Love My Husband

Today was my organizing day and while I was sorting though books and papers I found this. It is an old application for my husband's job and on it he had to fill out questions about his life. When I read this part my heart filled up with so much love. I'm beyond blessed to have married a man that loves me with every fiber of his being. A man that works bloody hard to provide for his family. A man that is an incredible father to our daughter and will be to our future son. I'm very proud of my husband and in everything he has done for our family.

We are having a BOY!

Can you believe it!? I'm having a B-O-Y! My husband and I can't shake these silly grins off of our faces nor do we want to. His name is Desmond Scott. It's a name we had picked out during our 1st pregnancy. Desmond is a scottish/irish name and being that I'm scottish, makes me love it even more. Scott is David's middle name and he has always wanted pass the name down to his son. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect name!

During the ultrasound he was moving around like crazy, would NOT stay still...which probably means I'm in trouble with this one. When it came time for the technician to reveal the gender, Dave was the one to spot it first and shouted with sheer joy, "IT'S A BOY!!!

I was actually worried before we had the ultrasound that he wouldn't open his legs and would be shy but WOW…I was wrong! From the moment the ultrasound went on my belly it was nothing but weenie! Well, weenie and knees! I guess he isn't a shy guy. Hahaha

After the appointment we called up our close friends and family to tell them about our little man. There are certain times in life where it is just so much fun to hear people’s reactions to your news and this is one of them. I loved how my girlfriends reacted, lots high pitched squeals of joy. My daughter was happy to hear she was going to have a little brother. She has always said that mommy was having a boy and boy was she right!

So now begins the fun part of preparing for Desmond. I'm so excited for us to be parents to this little boy!!!

Does your face light up?

“It’s interesting to see when a child walks in the room, whether it’s your child or anybody else’s child… Does your face light up? When my children used to walk in the room when they were little I looked at them to see if they had buckled their trousers or if their hair was combed or if their socks were up. And so you think your affection and your deep love is on display because you are caring for them, but it’s not. When they see you, they see the critical face and think “What’s wrong now?” But if you let your face speak whats in your heart, because when they walked in the room I was glad to see them. It’s just as small as that you see. It was a lesson I had to learn from my own children. Does your face light up? Do they see in your eyes that your really glad they are there? ” Toni Morrison

Bippity Boppity Belly!

To my amazement, it seems like the belly fairy has blessed me over night. Though my belly still looks more like a frat boys belly than an adorable precious baby bump. I have started the transition into some of my maternity clothes now. For those who don't know, maternity clothes are not the most flattering thing ever. Actually, most of maternity clothes are hideous. I have been to maternity stores over the past couple of weeks, found a couple cute dresses and outfits but you have to be thrifty since those clothes cost more than a down payment for a new house. Now starts the exciting new journey of dressing my ever expanding body.

As for my cravings, they very similar to the cravings I experienced with my daughter, Ava. I crave lemons, salsa and chips, spicy peppers, basically salty and sour foods. Only thing different I crave now is pickles. PICKLES!?! I have always hated pickles and now I cannot live without them. I have to have my pickle fix or I start jonesing and I'm not a nice person to be around when I am experiencing my pickle withdrawals. I thought it was an old wives tale, that pregnant women craved pickles. Well, this pregnant woman loves her pickles and I will stab the hand that comes any where near them.

Here is another symptom I have experienced with both pregnancies, EXTREMELY vivid dreams. Most of the dreams I have are beyond disturbing. Case and point, I have dreams...ahem...nightmares of my ex boyfriends. My dreams are so vivid, I think that they actually happened in real life. I'm keeping a dream log, it's something I wish I did when I was pregnant with Ava.

I really think that I am having another girl because both of my pregnancies are so eerily a like. No morning sickness, vivid dreams, the same food cravings. Whatever the gender of Baby #2 is, we will be over the moon, ecstatically happy. We have the names picked out for our boy or girl and let me just state, they are perfect! My husband and I take much pride in picking our future children's names out. In fact, we have all 8 of our future hypothetical children's names picked out. Yeah, we're an odd couple but we are perfect for each other.

I guess this is the end of my rant for this post. Until the next one....

Happy End of the World Day!

We're PREGNANT!

My husband and I are thrilled to announce that we are pregnant with our 2nd child. We are due December 16th, which is also my birthday. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and so far, this pregnancy has been a breeze. Thankfully, no morning sickness to report. I'm been very blessed that I have never had it in either of my pregnancies. The 5 pounds I have gained have gone to "the girls" and my tummy has yet to be seen.
At the end of this month I will be entering the 2nd trimester, which I'm hoping I will have lots more energy. Ava is so excited, she is always talking to my tummy and giving her little brother or sister kisses. She is going to be an amazing big sister:)

Thank you!
