Does your face light up?

“It’s interesting to see when a child walks in the room, whether it’s your child or anybody else’s child… Does your face light up? When my children used to walk in the room when they were little I looked at them to see if they had buckled their trousers or if their hair was combed or if their socks were up. And so you think your affection and your deep love is on display because you are caring for them, but it’s not. When they see you, they see the critical face and think “What’s wrong now?” But if you let your face speak whats in your heart, because when they walked in the room I was glad to see them. It’s just as small as that you see. It was a lesson I had to learn from my own children. Does your face light up? Do they see in your eyes that your really glad they are there? ” Toni Morrison

Bippity Boppity Belly!

To my amazement, it seems like the belly fairy has blessed me over night. Though my belly still looks more like a frat boys belly than an adorable precious baby bump. I have started the transition into some of my maternity clothes now. For those who don't know, maternity clothes are not the most flattering thing ever. Actually, most of maternity clothes are hideous. I have been to maternity stores over the past couple of weeks, found a couple cute dresses and outfits but you have to be thrifty since those clothes cost more than a down payment for a new house. Now starts the exciting new journey of dressing my ever expanding body.

As for my cravings, they very similar to the cravings I experienced with my daughter, Ava. I crave lemons, salsa and chips, spicy peppers, basically salty and sour foods. Only thing different I crave now is pickles. PICKLES!?! I have always hated pickles and now I cannot live without them. I have to have my pickle fix or I start jonesing and I'm not a nice person to be around when I am experiencing my pickle withdrawals. I thought it was an old wives tale, that pregnant women craved pickles. Well, this pregnant woman loves her pickles and I will stab the hand that comes any where near them.

Here is another symptom I have experienced with both pregnancies, EXTREMELY vivid dreams. Most of the dreams I have are beyond disturbing. Case and point, I have dreams...ahem...nightmares of my ex boyfriends. My dreams are so vivid, I think that they actually happened in real life. I'm keeping a dream log, it's something I wish I did when I was pregnant with Ava.

I really think that I am having another girl because both of my pregnancies are so eerily a like. No morning sickness, vivid dreams, the same food cravings. Whatever the gender of Baby #2 is, we will be over the moon, ecstatically happy. We have the names picked out for our boy or girl and let me just state, they are perfect! My husband and I take much pride in picking our future children's names out. In fact, we have all 8 of our future hypothetical children's names picked out. Yeah, we're an odd couple but we are perfect for each other.

I guess this is the end of my rant for this post. Until the next one....

Happy End of the World Day!

We're PREGNANT!

My husband and I are thrilled to announce that we are pregnant with our 2nd child. We are due December 16th, which is also my birthday. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and so far, this pregnancy has been a breeze. Thankfully, no morning sickness to report. I'm been very blessed that I have never had it in either of my pregnancies. The 5 pounds I have gained have gone to "the girls" and my tummy has yet to be seen.
At the end of this month I will be entering the 2nd trimester, which I'm hoping I will have lots more energy. Ava is so excited, she is always talking to my tummy and giving her little brother or sister kisses. She is going to be an amazing big sister:)

The illustrations above are my artwork. If you would like to use it, please give me the credit.
Thank you!

I Wanna Be Loved By You

What we did for Valentine's Day 2011
Sunday, after church.

My husband writes the sweetest things.

He got me the
Golden Girls: 25th Anniversary Complete Collection!!!!
I'm a very happy girl:)

He also got me 2 cards, which he always does when it's a special occasion.
One is a silly card, just for giggles and the other is a romantic, beautiful card that
always brings me to tears.

I adore the Sophia Petrillo DVD purse case. I am complete, now. :)

For the hubbs, I got him the Simpsons World - The Ultimate Episode Guide: Seasons 1-20 Book

Can you tell that we are both geeks?! :)

I know God loves me, because he gave me David. I believe that everything we went through to be together, made us stronger and better people for each other because of it. My soul has found its mate and I'm grateful the Lord has blessed me with a patient, kind man with an incredible sense of humor, who is strong enough to endure me even on my worst days and still love me.

David continues to make my heart grow with love and one day, it might just explode. All those years of waiting to be with him were worth it because I was waiting for my husband. I love you, David. Thanks for being my best friend, my everything.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Cogsworth Cupcakes

No servant in the enchanted castle knew better than Cogsworth how fast time was running out before his master would forever lose the chance to change his sorry fate. So, it's little wonder this trusty timekeeper didn't waste a second trying to convince Belle to give the Beast a chance. For fun, you and your child can spend time together decorating a cupcake in Cogsworth's likeness.

Ingredients (for each cupcake)

Peach-colored frosting (Note: to make your own, simply stir 1 drop of red food coloring and 2 to 3 drops of yellow food coloring into 1 cup of butter cream frosting. This should be enough to frost 1/2 dozen cupcakes)
A cupcake
A Tootsie Roll Midgee
Waxed paper
Rolling pin
Toothpick
An almond sliver
A mini marshmallow
A pinch of confectioner's sugar
2 chocolate chips
Red Twizzler candy
Black decorator's frosting or gel
A yellow Sweetie candy

Directions
1. Frost the cupcake and set it aside while you create Cogsworth's hair.

2. Microwave a Tootsie Roll Midgee for up to 6 seconds to slightly soften it.
Then sandwich the candy between two pieces of waxed paper and use the
rolling pin to flatten it to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use a knife to cut two 1/2- by 2-inch strips from the flattened candy. Working with one strip at a time, use a toothpick to roll the ends in opposite directions, as shown.
3. Stick one end of an almond sliver into the top of the cupcake and then press the rolled Midgee strips in place on the sides of it.

4. For eyes, slice a mini marshmallow in half and sprinkle confectioner's sugar on the sticky sides. Flatten both pieces with your thumb. Then press a chocolate chip, tip down, into the center of each. Press the eyes in place on the cupcake, leaving room to add eyebrows later.

5. For Cogsworth's mouth, press a 2 3/4-inch length of red Twizzler candy into the frosting, forming a wide smile. Add short lengths of Twizzler to the ends of the mouth.

6. Use the black decorator's frosting or gel to pipe on eyebrows. Next, pipe on clock hands that extend from the point where the nose will go to just below the mouth. For Cogsworth's nose, press a Sweeties candy in place, covering the very tops of the clock hands.
